WEAKNESSES: Mikio can be somewhat superficial, although he's working on this. He used to be cold, never really caring for those around him while still being nice. Knows nothing of personal relationships on a deeper level and is confused about them. He's also a little paranoid when it comes to friendships (or love), as he's costantly afraid of messing things up if he doesn't do the right thing.
Can't get sarcasm at all.
STRENGTHS: Very Determined, when he wants to get something he knows how to do it. Used to be a "winner" in everything, and has a high confidence in what he can do.
He can also be very supportive, and protective, towards those he cares for.
Mikio's also opened himself up new experiences, and as now a rather open mind towards a good deal of things.

PERSONALITY Charming, intelligent, polite and sophisticated: Mikio can easily appear as a boy with a perfect personality. He smiles often, and is generally kind towards anyone, which makes him easily admired by pretty much anyone around him.
Truth is, Mikio's hides behind a mask of perfection. He used to be mischievous, opportunist, and cared little about other's people feelings.
Even though this, Mikio isn't totally a bad person. He knows what he wants, and do everything he can to get it, no matter what the cost: he's ready to hurt anyone for his own goals.
Overall, he's generally really confident and does have a high self-esteem and because of that, sometimes people might perceive him as arrogant.
Despite all of these bad traits, Mikio has good points. He does care deeply for his brother (though it took him a lot to realize that), and he does everything he can to help him in anything (expecially his studies, though the help is not really that much appreciated), and to protect him. He's someone you can trust, even though he might not be pleasant in a lot of ways, he's not one that would break a promise, and if he's on your side, he's definitly a great help. It's just difficult to tell wheter or not he's on your side...
Like Makio, Mikio has some difficulties dealing with relationships, it's extremely difficult for him to actually show his real feelings and the most vulnerable part of his personality. He can also be shy around those he really cares for, because he's constantly afraid to mess everything up.

Since he joined S.E.E.S. Mikio begun to change. Thanks to Hyouri, he started having some real fun, and he became more open about himself and his own feelings.
Sadly, his brother Death durning a tartarus run, on December 28th, affected him greatly as well.
BACKGROUND: The older of a pair of twins, Mikio was born and raised in Tokyo. He comes from a rather wheatly family, where being perfect is everything. Concerned about his family well-being and to meet his parents expectation, he put a lot of effort in studying, learning manners, and a good deal of things normal kids wouldn't even consider.
Because of this, ever since he was little, Mikio collected praises and achievements in everything humanly possible, except in sports (that's because he has a weak body, though it doesn't go to the point of being sick).
Growing up, Mikio became generally obsessed with his own image and how others perceived him and his family, and was quite upset by his brother behaviour. Honestly, he thought he was a worthless human being, a threat to the good name of their family, and a shame.

Everything changed when Makio got the Apathy Syndrome. Most of the Hachirou family considered it an overall shame, but a good thing since he wouldn't have caused any more troubles, but Mikio was anything but amused, and for the first time, he understood it wasn't because that was ruining the family's image.
He felt guilty about his brother's condition, and thought that he should have helped him when he was in need instead of criticizing him.
He begun to search infos about the Apathy Syndrome, and found some very vague rumors about the dark hour and shadow on the net (they were described as dreams, mostly by those who recovered from the illnes). Since a lot of them were posted from Iwatodai, he thought he might have found some more useful infos if he got there.
Mikio got his parents' permission to move, and he took his brother with him.

Because he had the potential, he got approched by S.E.E.S. before, but refused to join.
Things changed when Makio finally recovered. Because he felt like he had to atone for his previous indifference towards his bother, Mikio thought he had to do something, and especially because he wanted to protect Makio from the Shadows, he decided to join S.E.E.S.
